  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Strange Electrical Issues

Did you ever get this figured out having the same issue 2015 3.8 technology package thanks
The battery terminal is going to be loose. You just can't tell because the box is anchored to the body and the terminal may feel tight but it's only got a fraction of contact with the battery post.

Don't use reamers or battery terminal brushes as it just makes the problem worse.

The dealership is going to want to sell you a $1400 box kit and labor to fix it, or you can surf Amazon and find a near match and mod like I did in the linked thread. Cutting the box down and moving the position of the terminal lower on the battery post will make sure the terminal can't wiggle, while ensuring any weight put on the box from the trunk floor rests on the battery instead of the terminal. The stock terminal grabs the post about a quarter of an inch from the base and leaves plenty of room to wiggle around.

2013 Equus that when stopping or turning the steering wheel the car dies. It will not restart unless we insert the key into the trunk and open the trunk. It will then regain power and start again. I am so afraid this will happen when turning across traffic and get us killed! We had it to the dealer and it got worse. We took it to an electrical auto shop and spent $1,700 for a junction box replacement and the car is still stalling. Why has Hyundai not been forced to recall these cars or repair them?
