  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Year
2022
Genesis Model Type
Genesis G70
I bought a 2022 G70 today and on page one of the Genesis Connected Services User's Manual is this notice:
Notice: This vehicle may utilize 3G wireless technology, which is expected to no longer function after 2022. Your vehicle will be unable to connect to Genesis Connected Services after 2022 and may not be updated to support other technologies.
Has anyone noticed Connected Services failing to work?

I'm not sure I care... It might be nice to think no one is tracking my every move via the car's wireless services. On the other hand it's a 2022 model and honestly, you think they'd have updated the modem chip by now. This 3G retirement problem is not a random surprise... Every manufacturer should have known about this for years. Literally years.

There are a couple of threads here about it if you do a search. You should be OK with a 2022.

I can't seem to find any mention of specific model/year affected by this discontinuation.

The G70 (no matter what model year) does not seem to be affected by the change, only previous-gen G80, and older G90:
I was wondering about that before renewing my subscription next month.

For the cars that are 3G only, you can now only renew month-to-month, not yearly. If you can renew for a year now, you are not affected by the 3G shutdown.

I can renew yearly but the attachment 3G Wireless Service Update posted by @CVDH-TN above says the 2017 G90 is affected.

Interesting.
I am 3G only, and I can't renew yearly, only monthly at this point.
Did you get the e-mail? There's also a VIN checker for this available somewhere now.

I did not get the email
The VIN checker on the Hyundai site says I’m not affected and the VIN checker on the Genesis site below doesn’t seem to work at all, at least not for me. I put in my VIN and nothing happens 3G Wireless Service Update
