  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Love my 2015 Genesis, but I am not a fan of the way the horn sounds. Has anyone replaced it with a stronger sounding one? If so what from where...

How often do you use the horn? Not sure what mine sounds like.

I agree this is the weakest sounding horn I've ever had lol. Sounds like a horn for a compact car. My smaller 5 series and my wife's CRV both have stronger sounding horns.
Never thought about changing it though.

I agree with you, I do think the horn is OK.
But I prefer a Train Horn type of sound and loudness.
If I'm honking at you I want you to know it, you can't ignore a sound that makes you think you didn't see the train tracks.
I have seen some smaller horns advertised to sound like a train horn, but I'm waiting to hear it in person before spending money on them.
My G90 doesn't have any space for a true 3 horn setup that a train engine normally uses nor the amount of air to run them correctly.

Does it matter? Many pedestrians have ear buds, many cars have the stereo blaring. Good chance if the do hear it they will just give you the finger anyway. ''I don't recall the last time I used my horn. Most times drivers find it a way to relieve anger or frustration, not for a true safety use.

I'm guessing you haven't heard a train horn at 50-100ft distance. You can not ignore it.
I have been close to an 18 wheeler that had one and he did it when cars were on the rail crossing and there was a panic.
Go to a rail crossing and wait for the train and stand at the crossing if you need a true reference.

Yep. worked near a crossing and heard plenty of them. I'd hear it but probably would still just give you the finger.

I've been driving for 60 years and never heard anyone say "I prevented an accident because I blew my horn". Loud noise does not replace good driving habits.
