  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Annnnd I also have the same problem (2013 sedan 3.8)... again.

2019 June, cruise control at 55, car starts coasting, tach to idle. Pull off, shift to park, then to R fine, N fine, spongy shift to D fail. Shift to P, shut off car, cuss for 30 seconds, restart, and shifts just fine. Three days later, back out of store parking, spongy shift to drive and will not move (still in neutral). Stranded, slant-bed to H dealer ($80), warranty covered "adjust of shift cable". Three months later, AFTER warranty apparently expired, stranded again, slant-bed to H dealer ($112), $380 to replace "bad shift cable". H would not help.

Now in 2022 April, stranded again, one hour from home, with 8yo grand kid. Can P/R/N all hot afternoon, but no Drive. After one hour of cool down and kid tears, started and drove home without a problem???? Backed into garage and now will not shift to drive.

My dilemma: take to H dealer ($???), or order shift assy and take to trusted mechanic?

Still the best touring car I have ever owned. Any sage advice?

If you are the original owner you may still be covered by the powertrain warranty 10/100,000. Are you?

I am original; Hyundai N.A. and dealer both deny warranty coverage.

That’s too bad. My ‘12 has an extended warranty till August ‘24, or 120,000.
