  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I recently had some damage from a tree falling on my 2015 Genesis sedan. I was hoping that someone here can help me understand what I should expect in terms of repairs. I have already filed an insurance claim but body shops here are booked out for two weeks. In the meantime I'd like to learn more about what the best practices may be for repairing this damage. Damage:
Dented roof cant rail, minor paint damage, driver side
Broken roof molding / trim between moonroof and cant rail, no leaks, driver side
Dented crease on the hood, no paint damage, driver side
Dented A pillar driver side, no paint damage, driver side
Dented front quarter panel, no paint damage, driver side

Any help / advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm no expert but it looks superficial. It looks like they might be able to pop those dents and hey atleast its the trim and not the glass right

Yes, sheer dumb luck its not the glass. I am most worried about the roof cant rail. The pictures may not make it obvious but it is definitely bent or bowed down a little and I don't know if that can be popped back up. The bend is right at the point where the metal is stamped / folded down to carry the moonroof.

Also, any idea what those trim pieces are and whether they can be replaced?

You might have to check on hyundai oem parts site. Hopfully its not the whole sunroof assembly those are pretty pricey.
