It's been some time since I logged into MyHyundai and I only did so because I wanted to update my 2016 Equus' GPS and was directed back to the MyHyundai site to get the D/L. (which I understand isn't a D/L, but will be a thumb drive sent in the mail for the Equus) So okay I go to the site. Oh no, I guess I've been removed (sort of) from the latest website. Passwork doesn't work, but I was allowed to change my password (back to the old password) and get into the site. But both of our cars are no longer listed. So okay, I'll add my Equus to my account. Nope. My car is listed as being in another account. Huh? You mean my old account information that disappeared?
So now I need to come up with bill of sale (from way back then?) plus the middle name of the salesman that sold the car to you. Just kidding on that one. But do come up with the date you purchased the car. Right as if I remember that! Then photograph your registration, your passpport or driving license and 9000 S&H green stamps and send off into the web. No worries about security, pal. Then wait for clearance from the mothership. I've been taking thing this car to the dealership for warranty work since forever and they don't know I own the car now? How about the replacement front air struts and other bits changed under warranty? Free oil changes and so on....
I went through this same BS with my wife's old 2015 Genesis and only solved that issue by trading it in on a new 2020 Genesis. Several attempt to use the MyHyundai site failed to get that old car registered. Oh, and since the newer Genesis isn't listed as being ours, I guess I'll need to add that one the same way.
Last time I tried to talk to a human at Hyundai was: "A human will be with you in just a moment, but we are experiencing a longer than normal wait time, please stay on the line...."
I just want a GPS update, nothing more!!! Even if I stole the freaking car who would care if I updated the freaking GPS!!!!! Golly!
Or maybe just pick door number two? I'll see if my dealership will order the new GPS D/L for me. Otherwise what a complete and total PITA.
I hope Hyundai don't send me a follow up survey about my experiences. Please do leave a positive rating. Yeah, right!
End of Rant.
