Great! This is good news.

I just tracked mt G70 on stock brakes and it was pretty bad. Just put in an order front and back for the yellowstuff pads - hoping that plus a Motul 5.1 fluid flush will let me (lightly) track my G70 with a safer feeling that the stock brakes.

Will give my honest feedback once I get them in.

PS: I do live in a cold weather (Canada) - should I be concerned when using these on very cold temperatures?

They will work well from cold, but on the track some warming up laps will be very beneficial. Remember to bed them on the street for 50-100 miles or so before taking to the track, full bedding info can be found below

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'll make sure to follow the bedding procedure before I hit the track. And I always do a warmup and cooldown lap so should be good there.

My question about cold was actually in terms of street/highway driving on cold months when it snows and the ambient temperatures get very low (i.e. below 30f/0c). Would the Yellowstuff still function when taking the car for a spin in these circumstances?

Thanks

We have never heard of problems in the cold and sell lots to Canada and all of the Scandinavian countries where temperatures are extremely cold, so yes Yellowstuff would work fine for you :)

Hey there, I just got the brakes and they came with slightly different bedding procedure (see image) than the instructions on that website.

Which should I take as final word?

Also, I won't track this car for the next month or so, should I still proceed with the phase 2 bedding procedure or wait till you get to the track?

Thanks!

The website is more up to date, i recently received some pads myself and read that flyer and realized it is very outdated, I have requested it be updated ASAP as i know you're not the only person who read it with confusion.

Fade 2 & 3 are for pre-track warming up, which should be done on the day of the track event. They are designed to bring the pads up to the required heat where they will perform at their best, if not reached then you may experience green fade, which is why these steps are not just recommended but necessary. It is also recommended to have heat paint on your rotor so you know for sure they have passed the required heat (427C specifically) to not experience green fade.

through the bed-in link you can find more info about fade and our trackpack (includes heat paint) at the bottom of the bluestuff procedure, it is also relevant to yellow. the trackpack can be purchased at this link. It goes a long way and can be reused multiple times or shared between a group of friends, and the temperatures are specifically chosen to compliment our range.

Thanks for the reply. Just one more question, for street bedding procedure (not track), the website doesn't specify the pressure/how hard I should step on the brakes for these 8 steps. Medium? Hard?

PS: Just got the car now with the Yellowstuff installed already feel a tremendous difference. Will post a full review after I go thru the break in procedure.

Thanks again for your prompt responses!

If in a safe area to do so (nobody around/behind you), a hard brake is recommended.

I look forward to hearing how you get on with them :)

I'm no brake expert, but holy crap these pads are amazing (after break in).

Last night I pushed these pads hard on back roads, with multiple all out brake stops (activating ABS) and my gosh the braking power on these are beyond what I've experienced on any other pads, especially in comparison with the shitty stock ones.

I continued to abuse these pads for half an hour and they just never seemed to fade. Not only they had an amazing stopping power but they just kept consistently performing. In comparison to the stock pads, I remember experiencing brake fade when I took the car for a test drive - and I wasn't driving that hard. After the break in these pads feel super smooth and linear, they were miles better than the OEMs even when cold.

I honestly can't wait to take these to my local track, I understand that they aren't real race pads but I know I'm going to shave off a good few seconds of my lap times while feeling a lot safer - the stock pads gave me a scare last time.

So far the cons have been a lot of brake dust, but I'm fine with the trade off (especially how hard I was driving). Also, there is some very ocasional brake squeal - and according to the pad specs it says that some noise is expected for the first X amount of miles (can't remember the exact number, maybe 500 miles or so). But honestly, its very very tiny and not very often when it happens, it didn't bother my wife (and she can be picky with these things!). I couldn't find a pattern of when the noise happened, it just seemed random (that is after the break in, during the break in there was more noise but all bets are off before break in).

Lastly, after my track day with the OEM pads I believe they left carbon deposits on the rotors and started the infamous pedal shudder/vibration. When installing the Yellowstuff pads I opted out from machining the rotors with the impression that the new pads would "eat up" these deposits and would remove the shudder. It was a gamble but it looked like it paid off, after the break in the pedal is almost 100% smooth, theres still once in a while a little bit of vibration but very subtle and it seems to be fading away.

My overall impression is beyond expectations and just curious how long these are going to last for - which I'm personally okay if they don't last a while for the performance I get, especially considering how these are priced. Plus, I'm curious now about the Bluestuff pads, perhaps when it's time to replace them I might move up to the Blues.

Thanks EBC folks for this great product.

Hello - I have been having the typical Brembo brake shuddering issues on my 2020 G70 Sport. Will just changing the brake pads to ECB brakes solve the problems or do the rotors need to be changed as well? Thank you!

for shuddering it is more likely the rotors than the pads, and more often than not it is because there is a material deposit on the rotor. It can mostly be solved by having the rotors turned on a lathe by a mechanic when you install new pads, or sometimes it does require replacing the rotor completely. If there is enough rotor left/ it isn't nearing the minimal thickness then having it turned should be adequate to solving your issues.
