  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Discontinuing GENESIS CONNECTED SVCS 12/2022 - what next?

Yes, what is the deal with this. the same thing happened to my Audi but they offers some boot leg patch where they plugged a device into your OBD port and strapped it in place with a zip tie. It let some of the features work, but not others. I never subscribet to their lame services anyway because they charged a fortuen.

But, I did notice on my 21's rear passenger window, there is a mention of this. I tried to read the sticker, but the damn sun is so bright. I will try to snap a picture of it later.
If I lose this I will be pissed.

I am going through something like this with my wife's 2017 BMW. She seems to have lost all her live stuff and even her car play is not working right. I am taking it to the dealer next week for a recall and will try to figure it out. For her car I don't mind paying for an upgrade but for the Genesis, where one of the advertised options was the three year connect service, this is just wrong.

Any updates on aftermarket remote starters?

I started a thread a year or so ago and only had one post, but it seems to be a good one.

Some of the BMW services were for 4 years before renewing was necessary. The Car Play is good for the long term so maybe they can get that working without any extra cost.

Yes, For the BMW connect or XConnect, it was for 4 years so I went online and tried to renew it. I could not find any way to do that. So I sent them a message through their website about 2 months ago. No answer. I will go over it with the service dept. when I go next week.
The Apple car play was a 400 option that was on the car, but well worth it for her. Wireless Carplay is great. Its like BMW was ahead their time. She tells me that Carplay has not been working for a while, but now that I think about it, She did get a new phone a while back and maybe never set it up????
I have a Android so figuring out her phone is a pain in the butt. I wish they had a back button on them. I get lost when I need to go back to the previous menus.

I read on a BMW forum that you can call the BMW Genius hotline and order/renew all of the services. For some reason it doesn't show up on the BMW site but you can order something they call Connected Drive Plus which includes a services all of the services vs. just a couple of selected ones.

I haven't looked into one of these wireless carplay dongles but it looks like the dongle has to be plugged into the same USB port that your phone would be plugged into for carplay. For my G80, the dongle would basically sit in the same spot as the wireless charger. Just making sure I understand how this works.

That is true, but you can (I did) pop up the console trim (part with the gear shift and media dial), and put the dongle under there. Then it is out of the way of the wireless charger.

Yes, but there is plenty of room. This thing (the AAWireless anyway) is smaller than a tic tac box. It is smaller than 2" X 2" X 1/2"
I think the motorola is small too, but the other thing that does both Android and Apple appears to be twice as large.

Also check out the carlinkit 3 mini. It has a smaller form factor and might fit the space better.
