On the older cars it is not their fault. The newer models should have had 4G modems as part of the design. The 4G/LTE was available in 2010 so given the typical lead time in the auto industry, cars from about the 2014 MY should have had the new technology.From a consumer’s viewpoint, a car without the ability to remote start and control temperature is not viable in areas like AZ where the temperature reaches 110 very often for months of the year. Or in NY for that matter where seasonal temps are in the teens or 90s. If I lived in San Diego I wouldn’t care so much…
Genesis of NA Consumer Support not only regurgitates that the termination of connected services is not their fault, but goes out of their way to repeat that they have no plans to assist any customer in maintaining Connected Services. Moreover, they threaten that if we or a Genesis dealer were to install or facilitate installation of any 3rd party part, they would void their factory warranty.
Miserable customer service at best.
I don't see how a third party starter could void the warranty unless it actually causes damage to something.
