  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Gas cover won't latch

When put in the first tank of gas in this car, I was shocked to find how cheap all those parts were - even the filler door is plastic! Just like the wife's KIA Soul... From then on, I've always closed it as lightly as possible.

Cheap may be a factor but weight is a bigger factor. If they can save an ounce for a better EPA rating they will.

The difference would probably only a pound or so at best... But how much were they concerned about mileage anyway, when the end product weighs over 4600 lbs?

From everything I've read a pound is a LOT to lose. Even badges on some cars were made smaller. Would not be difficult to ignore and make it a 4900# car.
