  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello from the Dealership. $330 for front brake pads and resurface rotors? Can I just get a whole new set online and have anyone install them? I found this set online but know nothing about brakes: Premium Cross Drilled & Slotted Brake Kit.

Thank you
J

Personally I would have no qualms about DIY pad replacement. 2012 4.6 Replacement pads price range: $30-60 per axle @ Rockauto.com. OE pads are in the middle of that range. Rotors shouldn't need resurfacing as long they are not warped badly and you clean them thoroughly. I prefer CRC red can.

I have a 2012 3.8 sedan. Just ordered a full brake kit from Rock Auto (Centrix) Rotors, pads, clips etc for $330 (front and back).

Thank you and can you send me a link to the Kit?

When putting you new pads you need to have a good brake surface (free of glaze) for them to bed into. So either get your rotors turned (if they are within spec) or new rotors.
