  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2023 Genesis G90

FYI: Some interesting reviews.

Too bad Hyundai dealers are still part of the experience 🙄

Disappointed in the huge price hike. An Audi A8L similarly equipped comes in at the same price. I think Genesis, while trying to assert itself as a "legitimate" luxury brand may have overshot the mark on this one by about $5-7000. I think most buyers of luxury cars would take the Audi (even though it's terribly boring looking).

Having said that, I do feel like Genesis is true luxury, if not better luxury. But sadly, I was hoping the pricing would stay super-competitive.

Undecided on if I will cancel my Priority One deposit until I see lease numbers.
The A8 barely outsells the G90 and just had a massive price cut because it wasn't selling. I wouldn't consider it any sort of sales benchmark.

I think the boring looks are the reason it barely sells...

Bmw sells a lot more 7 Series than the Audi but I believe it still pales in comparison to the sales of the S Class.

Yeah, pretty much every other car in this segment combined probably doesn't equal the sales numbers of the S-Class.

I am very curious to see how the new 7 Series will sell, especially now that it's basically shot itself in the face by removing AWD from the 6-cylinder, effectively forcing people to buy the much more expensive V8 or EV versions. Nevermind the way it looks... yikes

Very unlikely lease numbers are going to be reasonable, not just for this car but industry overall. Currently it is best to fiance than to lease.

Anything with a BMW badge sells! Simply the average customer doesn't know a great deal a care too much about the car they drive as long as it has the right badge. BMW's have a historic reputation for being obviously German and then by inference good cars, so they become the default choice.
You have to wonder whether the design team are just inept, or do they design there cars to be as ugly as possible for a bet!!!! If it's the latter how they must fall about laughing when they see the public still buys them! They have produced a few shockers and it doesn't seem to dent their profits - £13.4 Billion at the last announcement!

I cannot buy a car. I get bored of it usually after about 2 years. With the exception of my old 2015 K900, which I would have kept after lease, but it had some issues. Loved the car otherwise.

The A8 has never sold well here, so nothing new.

Wouldn’t say that's the case w/ the 7 Series anymore.

Past 4 yrs, has done 6-8k in sales or around half the volume of the S Class; pretty much is the S Class and everyone else fighting for scraps (and even the S Class will struggle as more and more buyers switch to EV flagships).

BMW's aggressive lease rates helps their sales (they make that up w/ very healthy CPO sales).

Think the G90 is priced fine; what will be more important is the leading terms.

As long as they're competitive w/ the A8, can see the G90 (assuming adequate supply as Genesis is having a difficult time building enough G90s for the Korean market) move up to the 3rd spot in the segment.

The G90 is not available in the UK or Europe. As in the U.S the Merc S-Class is the dominant car in that market. Everyone has had a go at trying to compete, the usual German competition, Lexus, and Jaguar. All have failed. Even Jaguar have fallen out of favour, the XJ albeit armoured and bullet proof used to be the official brand of car for the Prime minister - now it's the Range Rover. In fact in its own way the Range Rover has the same unique position amongst luxury SUV's as the S Class has amongst luxury saloons.

^ Yeah, flagship SUVs/CUVs have already done a number on the segment, and it'll only get worse as flagship electrics (both sedans and CUVs) like the Lucid Air increasingly take their share.

Genesis will be fine with the G90 being a distant 3rd/4th in sales here as it is doing a healthy 2,500/month in Korea.

That's the difference as to why HMG continues to heavily invest in the G90 (as well as the G80 and the successor to the Grandeur, which is supposed to get G80 level of luxury) and why ToyoCo doesn't with the LS.

Going back to the A8, a buyer has to really like having an expanse of piano black all across the dash (unless things have changed, one can only add more piano black - lol).

I'm not so sure about that, the recent 8 Series was a pretty massive flop and they were giving huge incentives and ended up slashing the MSRP even before the chip shortage. BMW has never had the same success as Mercedes in the ultra high-price realm unless you count Rolls Royce.

Kind of a shame that it's ironically the best-looking BMW on sale today.

"Here's the full spec/feature sheet from the Genesis site- very bizarre that the HUD is an option on the top-of-the-line supercharged model but standard on the base model."

Yeah, I'm thinking that must be a misprint, since Genesis doesn't offer any option packages other than the SC engine. Someone's "S" looked like an "O" maybe.

Er ma gerd...looks like my 7th grade girlfriend who had wire braces on her teeth.

Any word on Canadian pricing yet? Definitely getting hit with the new luxury tax on this one.

I have a 2021 G90. I emailed the dealership about the 2023 G90 (no, I didn’t do the pre-order option), and they emailed me back stating that they have zero 2023 models allocated for their dealership to be sent anytime soon. Cars.com doesn’t show any 2023 models at all, nor does the Genesis website. What’s going on?

Yeah I coulda got one, but I refunded my Priority One reservation after finding out how expensive the G90 is now.

I was going to ask on here: did anyone do the priority one, and if so, have you received your 2023 G90?
