  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I was keeping my Pistol on my right hip and it would run up against the middle arm rest, and it scratched out several times. I thought that I could just wipe them off, but unfortunately they don’t wipe away. I came my local Hyundai dealer and was told they don’t make an interior touch up paint, and that I’d have to “replace the entire panel to fix the scratches”, I’m calling BS on that. Does anyone know if they make a touch up paint for the interior parts, or if I can use the leather seat touch up to fix the scratches. They really stock out, and look terrible. A photo is attached. Thank you for any help, or advice.

Well, I think it may be "Partial BS" - it looks like it's on the surface. From my experience, plastic trim is usually the same color all the way through. Appears to be more like a scuff (like a shoe on a floor) where it left some rubberized material behind from the grip.

I'd try a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth, pick a more lightly scuffed area and give it a good rub & see if it starts to lift. If so, carry on...

As for interior "paint" I'm unaware of that kind of product or how you could match it.

I don’t know what exactly you mean by it might be partial BS. BS from who? Me? Nothing that I said wasn’t 100% true. I had a flashlight in between the seat and it, so it scratched it. I don’t need to lie on a forum for Genesis owners. I’m going to try the alcohol suggestion, but I went as far as a Magic Eraser on it, and it didn’t work. Thanks for the response, even though it was kind of rude.

Mm

I know this may seem stupid, but I remember somewhere that people were using clear lacquer nail polish on plastic scratchs. Check it out on Google first...

Thank you. I will look into it. It’s really aggravating me. The car looks beautiful besides that!

Dude wasn't being rude, he's saying it was partial bs from the dealer. As anything goes, I'd stop wearing the pistol while you drove; put it in the center console and put it back on once you exit the vehicle.
