  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My genesis has an intermittent problem of the vent to the right of the driver sometimes is not opening when all other dash vents are open. The only fix I have found is to shut off the car and restart and the problem is temporarily fixed. Anyone else have this problem? What was the fix?

I’ve had this problem very intermittently for the past year or so on my 2015, especially when it’s very hot outside. My quick fix is to simply rotate through the vent outlet selection switch, ending on the a/c vent selection, then hitting the Auto button again. Pretty quick fix.

Since I have an extended warranty, I would like it fixed. I was hoping to know what the fix is before bringing the car in.

In another thread, and owner found that having the AC system not be full caused it to freeze up. They added more "freon" and it stopped freezing up, fixed the problem.

That is not my issue. It is an air distribution issue.

I would assume that it must be one or more of the air door actuators, which do sometimes wear out.
The main thing for you, rather than telling them what you think it is, is to be able to demonstrate the problem to them when you take the car in.

You are correct. So far, it has not happened when I could take the car in. As soon as I shutoff the engine, the problem is gone. I am patiently waiting for an opportunity to show it to them.

In the mean time, I am hoping that someone had a similar problem resolved.
