  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello! I have an issue - my GV60 arrived after a long journey from Korea to Kazakhstan and all batteries are fully discharged. I cannot open any door/trunk/frunk. I have no mechanical key. Please advise of any options to open the car. Thanks!

Wow, that’s not good but you must have a physical key. In North America, ours looks like a dog tag, with plastic around it, it pops out of that. It could be your 12v battery didn’t get charged from the big one. This seems to be a rather unfortunate situation for quite a number of people.

Thanks everyone! I used the safecracker service to access the car. Not the best option, but I have no idea where the mechanical key is))

The dead 12V battery seems to be a right of passage for most new GV60 owners. I had 2-3 in the first couple weeks, and fortunately, nothing since.

Bumping this up but I finally got my GV60. First thing that came in mind was being careful about the dead 12V.

I was trying to find a mechanical key for the car but I didnt see it - is anyone else missing it or am I just looking in the wrong place?

They look like a pair of dog tags. A small rectangular plastic frame with a metal centre that pops apart. They may be in the glove compartment.

I notice that the orange light on top of my dash goes on a lot while the car is in the garage and that means the battery pack is charging the 12 volt battery.

The key fob has the mechanical key in it

Are you sure you know where your mechanical key is? Every GV60 key fob/remote I have seen does not have a mechanical key integrated to it. It rather has a individual dogtag mechanical key that is separate from the fob/remote.

Correct...at least for me.

My Genesis Experience manager actually showed me a metal key from inside the key fob. It will fit the hole inside the handle after opening it up

To be clear we are talking about the same thing, if you have a GV60 remote like the one in the picture, there is no mechanical key inside the remote. The mechanical key is in a separate dog tag like the one on the bottom of the picture.
