Navigation Gone after update

I just updated my navigation on my 2019 G70. It updated my radio but I now have lost my maps and Nav I get an error report that says Navigation unavailable check your SD card. Called customer service tried a few things no luck reinstalled my update no luck. Genesis wants me to set up a service appointment which is ok but my dealer is worse than my dentist, I'm lucky if I get in there within a month. Anyone have this issue and if yes how was it fixed

I'd download again and retry. Files could have been lost or corrupted along the way. If you have the old SD card, use that since you know it worked.

If you are still in your original 3 year ownership window you can have it shipped on the SD Card to you for free.

Thanks I was able to update the old card everything is working. Surprised at the new look of the radio. What were they thinking. I've got another year of free service. I haven't decided yet what to do about renewing the connected services next year. I like it for free

So did you like whatever the new look is? I’ve never updated mine yet for folks were saying at one time other changes got made outside of navigation and some did not like those changes. Also there have been a few updates that had bugs that existed until the follow on update came out. I don’t travel out of state with my G70 so having the latest and greatest update has never been a big deal for me. My IPhone can supplement as needed for those few times I might need the newest roads or restaurants to show up.

After doing the installation I wonder if it was worth it. Radio graphics are weird. At least for me. The is a tube look that's strange. If I could go back to the original look I would

Trust me, you DO NOT want the update. Currently trying to work with my dealer to reflash the system back to the way it was when I took delivery, the radio is disgusting to use and the new navigation map is actually worse to read because a full 1/3 of the screen is now a useless depiction of the sky. Also the voice recognition, voice texting, and voice POI search are all dumber and slower than they were. The only thing it "adds" is the ability to check stock prices and weather by voice. Totally useful when I'm driving my sports sedan /s.

Totally useful when I'm driving my sports sedan /s.

Do you own the facelifted model? It comes from the factory with the new look (half the screen is sky)

Or did the pre face lift models also now have the same look?

Same car, same problem. I updated using a USB drive. Did you remove the original SD card and update that?

That map can show either a 2D or 3D projection. set it back to 2D and I think it will fix that problem.

Map view can be changed by pressing the icon just below the little house icon on the map screen.

I am having a similar problem. I bought a new SD card so I could not touch the OEM SD card. I downloaded the update to the new SD card and it worked for about a month and then started getting the message "Navigation initialization unsuccessful. Please check the SD card and try again". Unplugged and re-plugged the SD card and still no good. Pushed the little button in the reset hole and let it do it's thing and still no good. So I reformatted the SD card and downloaded the update onto it again. Plugged it in and it worked........ For about a month. This morning it stopped working again. Now I get the same error message. AND, when I now plug in the OEM SD card I still get the same error message. Any suggestions?

I would say don't mess around with downloading navigation updates. My G80 Sport is now 4 1/2 years old. When a new update is available, instead of downloading, I ask for the update SD. In making the request, at first it appears that there will be a charge to update. However, at the end, it says Genesis will pay for the update/sd. The last one a couple of months ago arrived express in about 2 days. I'm guessing I updated the navigation system at least 4 or 5. times,

I ain't messing around with no stinkin' updated SD card from my junk drawer. All my updates went smoothly and took about 35-40 minutes. I pick a spot that's about 15-20 minutes away, start the update and head for the spot. The "spot" is a McDonalds where I get a soft serve cone and then head for home. When I'm back home, the cone is gone and the update is finished. Better than idling in the driveway for 35 minutes...

I bought a new SD card for the update, not one I found in my junk drawer. And now both the new SD card with the update and the original OEM SD card that I have not touched, except for unplugging it, do not work.

Note that the only supported SD card in the car is a 32Gb card, formatted to FAT32. That is exactly what I bought and did.

It's possible that the old file data does not work with the new updated firmware.
Not all new SD cards are equal.
Alternately, your SD socket may have developed a problem. If it did, this does not seem to be common.

The original one won't work because you upgraded. The system will not downgrade. Sounds like you have a bad SD card. Order the upgrade SD card and all should be fine. You can also use your OEM card ans format and install the download to it.
