  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just got my GV70 yesterday - loving it so far! Just curious things I'm trying to work through like the navigation voice commands. I tried it going to work yesterday and spoke the address "11010 111 Avenue". It got the 11010 no problem but every single time, used "11010 170 St" instead! Scrolled through the list of options and there was no 111 Avenue listed. How do you get 170 St from 111 Ave? I tried it a dozen times saying "111th", "111", "one-one-one", etc...nothing worked at all! And my Android Auto was disconnecting and reconnecting every few seconds so I couldn't use that either (seems very, very finicky with the USB cable I use but I did find one that works). Not the best first navigation impression!

Just wondering if others have had that much trouble with the voice commands - I know one review remarked on how incredibly bad the voice command system was but even my 2012 Kia is not this bad...just wondering what experiences others were having?

Not saying it's a bad vehicle - I bought it, after all - just curious! I will likely use Android Auto more anyway, but still struggling trying to get that to run full screen. I did get it to work once but now I can't make it work again, but that's a story for another thread.

Ummm, the voice commands on the GV70, to be frank, are not up to 2022 standards. Hopefully you didn’t purchase this vehicle for that feature. 😱

No, I did not! But I usually use them if all other methods fail...always painful but rarely this bad. You would think they would have done some work on this over the last 10-15 years! ;)

Yeah, I guess it was less of a priority then the kick ass suspension this thing got. Danke Herr Biermann 🍻
On the bright side, maybe there will be a future update for it.

I use Android Auto, which brings Google Assistant. A very mature voice interface that does everything I need. I never need to use Genesis Maps or voice commands. If you have an iPhone, you should be able to use Siri instead.

That is my plan, but I couldn't get AA to work...the cable I've been using with my truck didn't work on the Genesis.

Try having your phone unlocked before plugging it in.

I tried 4 cables and 2 of them worked...weird. The other 2 have been used for AA on other vehicles with no problem.

Yes, its seems very out of date. I pretty much only use it for making phone calls. Navigation was not easy to figure out. Cadence seems important.

Even the phone is questionable. I could never get it to "Call Home" so I changed my phone contact and it will "Call My House"

it's probably more accurate if you speak Korean

Haha! I should test that with some Korean speakers!

It seems to have no issues figuring out people's names (and some on my list are rare), while basic commands seem to be outside of its purview.

The Genesis voice command is pretty horrible. It has never gotten the address correct and every single time I end up just typing in the info. By far one of the worse systems I've seen where there's concerned.
