  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey folks, I've been driving my 2023 since beginning of July, have a little over 2k miles on it. Since about 250 miles in I noticed the widely discussed whine coming from the rear end when coasting at ~50mph. Ive been meaning to reach out to my dealership to have it replaced, but you can imagine my surprise when they reached out to schedule it for me. The woman I spoke with said there was a recall and I wouldn't be charged for anything. Just wanted to give a heads up to everyone that you may be getting calls too!

Nice of them to reach out. I haven't seen the recall posted anywhere so I'm surprised they are reaching out. Glad you are getting it taken care of.

Do you have the 2.5T or 3.5T?

Any info on the dates of manufacture for the recall?

The date of production listed on the door sticker on mine is 05/22.

To piggyback off an earlier comment, I haven't been able to find anything online about an active recall for the GV70. In this thread GV70 2.5 rear end noise one guy had his rear differential replaced because of the noise. Unfortunately he received a bad one and has yet to update on whether the third one is good. Should be noted though that the differential and torque converter are two totally different things. My appt isn't until October 24th (loaner car availability) so I'll provide an update a few days after.

Yikes, that's a long way out for what is a fairly significant recall! Good luck! I emailed my GEM to see if she knows anything about upcoming recalls. Mine was built 07/22 so I doubt they've made many changes in that amount of time, but the first occurrences of this were from people whose build dates were back in February/22 - you think they would have tracked it down by now!

My local dealership got back to me and said they are aware of torque converter recalls happening and it's based on VIN. So they seem to know which vehicles are affected...and confirmed mine is not one of them.

Hmm, now I'm wondering if this is completely separate from the rear noise issue. I'll follow up with them and let y'all know.

Hey Folks, new member. Found this thread and curious how things turned out for anyone needed this done. My 70 has been at the dealership a week now, all kinds of excuses. Anyone that’s had this done, any issues since the work was completed? Appreciate any feedback.

I brought mine in for the torque converter recall 2 days ago, I was told it was six hours worth of labor. Today (2 days later), they tell me it won’t be fixed until next week. Not sure what they are trying to pull here. I went to the dealership after hours expecting to see it inside on a lift or at least in a bay. It was parked outside, with no evidence of repair? It’s a new model and I expected there would be issues, however I just feel lied to and manipulated. If they would just except responsibility for what they didn’t get right and fix it, most people wouldn’t be too upset.
