  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just received an offer in the mail from Lexus that's hard to refuse. "Test drive a 2010 Lexus GS and receive a $75 Visa Gift Card". The offer also promotes a 36 month AWD lease at $499/mo with $4198 due at signing. Doesn't indicate how car is configured but MSRP is $50,555. . I'll try and do it next week, I'd like to compare to my Genesis.

Go get that gift card! (car is optional)

When the heck is a new GS coming?? I see a few throughout each week and sometimes from a distance I mistake it for a 1 generation old Honda Accord. And their not even related!

I was interested in the GS460 prior to looking at a Genesis, but I couldn't pay the high price of the GS when it looks very bland and sure as hell doesn't have the appearance of a car in this class that the price tag suggests.

From what I have read, the Lexus GS is not very sporty (despite its sporty look) and the back seat is pretty tight. Not sure if if is front or rear wheel drive. For also $15,000 less (comparing MSRP) for Genny V6, I opted for the Genny.

I don't care what the sticker says, I wouldn't rate the GS as a $52K automobile. Nice yes, but I agree with Scottdk.
I'd put the over 22 LARGE one would have spent toward the purchase of the Genesis.

The current GS isn't built as well as the previous GS.. The NEXT GS will probably be very competitive...

The GS was one of the cars I was looking at when I bought the Genesis. Its smaller and imo not as good on the road as a driver's car. Add the higher price and shorter warranty, and the Genesis was the better car for me.

I hate when they pay down the monthly payment to something more attractive with a HUGE down payment. You also have to assume there will be a disposition fee of $450 or so. The downpayment and disposition fee add another $130 bucks a month to the actual lease monthly cost so it is actually $620/mo. If you put $620 a month toward the purchase of a Genny you'd have accrued $8-10K in equity by 3 years.

I've never understood the logic behind putting a big down payment on a lease. It's not like you have to worry about being upside down.

It is the way auto maker make you think you can get into a really nice car for very little money. In Canada, you can lease a BMW 5 series for the same lease payment as a Genesis. BUT if you read the fine print the BMW requires $8,000 in down payment and the Genesis zero down payment!

The best ad I've seen runs on occasion in the Wall St Journal.....a Maserati lease for only about $900/month.........with about $16500 down
