  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Seems possible that the Genesis models with this transmission might be subject to the issue described at the link below?

if you know for certain, please post info.

Thanks

Did you go to the website listed in the article and enter your VIN? I entered mine it was clean.
Or are you just thinking they used the same tranny in the Genesis but are not recalling them>?

Entering a Genesis VIN at that website will not produce any results unless GMA files a recall with NHTSA.

I think some Genesis models use this transmission so I've emailed GMA and am waiting for a reply.

The DCT is for FWD platforms hence not in any GMA vehicles

I was wondering the same thing about my GV80 2.5T since both Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia K5 are available with a 2.5T engine. But looks like the only non-Genesis vehicle that uses the same 8-speed trans as mine is the Stinger 2.5T, which isn't on the recall list. Woohoo! Had me a little worried!
