  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The way I understand it....the issue is pretty much only on dedicated ev platforms only, as other evs are just their ice skin with ev tech added into available space, so not an issue. I am assuming it's because of the motors positioning affecting the turn angle. I.e. they stretch out the wheelbase to accommodate the extra battery capacity. This in turns makes the motor compartment smaller and restricting the turn angle of the front tires. Rwd don't have this same space restriction. So what can they do about it... remove batteries, stretch out the front more and possibly affect wind drag and reduce efficiency. I agree over time designs will improve. But atm the priority is on battery capacity, efficiency and range ultimately. Maybe in a few years time 😅. When battery technology improves and the motors efficiency improves, charging infrastructure improves so range isn't so much a big deal. I wouldn't say it's bad design. It's a completely new market and they're still learning what's the bigger priorities to consumers.
Agreed. I do think those adding rear wheel steering are on to something as a way to address what your outlined above.

I do wonder why the US didn't get the RWD version of the GV60.....that way consumers get a fair choice. Pretty decent jump in range too. That's why I got it. But mines also a work car. Don't need the extra power to encourage me to lose my licence 😅🤣

I doubt we’ll see a RWD version in Canada as consumers here favour AWD for the winters, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a RWD model in the US in later years.
Often when manufacturers release new models and/or have limited supply they look to sell the more expensive models (AWD in this case) first.

Are you in Canada? If so, any other cool things you got that the US didn't?

I'm in Scotland. Rwd model came in at less then £2k more then the EV6 entry level model. Downfall is alot of add ons, but it does make it more affordable for some. We did miss out on facial recognition. But that has to do with some of the privacy laws I believe. Range of 321miles. That's quite nice. Dedicated Genesis Dealer. None of those markups or service issues.

I got sick of waiting for custom mats and picked up a Weathertech cut to fit cargo liner for $40 at Costco. It turned out pretty well.
I'll need to wait for custom floor mats as they are far superior to anything else.
I went to get my GV60 measured by a company that makes a custom mat, they seem to be a pretty popular mat brand for the Tesla crowd. Anyway, the guy says that the mat should be ready for a test fit in about 3 months, and if that fits well, shouldn't be too long after that until it's available. Just letting you know so you have a timeline lol.

For now, I made my own mats using marine carpet that I got a roll of from Amazon, it's waterproof and works ok, not great and I can't wait until proper mats are available, but for now it's neat and protects the car.

I was laser measured for custom mats by TuxMat 2 months ago. They finally came in 2 weeks ago and I think they are very nice.
Unfortunately they needed a revision and with supply chains the way they are the final product will not be available until later in November.
I will update when they are available.
Check out their reviews.

Would love some pictures when you get them properly!

This is the response I received from TuxMat regarding availability:

Thank you for your interest in TuxMat. Mats for the 2023 GV60 are still in development, now in the prototype stage. Once they've been successfully test fitted, the mats will go into production and we'll have a better idea of their availability at that time. They're still a few months away.

Genesis is also halting sale of the OEM ones. I watched a video of the WooEV/LinerX ones and they seem to have some fitment issues :(

Just as I posted: they are not ready for retail sales yet! I will let you know the day I get them approved and installed!.
I also said that the 'unfinished' ones I have in the car now are really very nice.
They asked me not to tell anyone on the forums yet because they didn't want a flurry of enquiries until that are ready

I followed up with them only because I joined the waitlist from their product page a couple months ago, and I'm getting a bit antsy as we get closer to snow season 😇

I have the WooEV mats and they fit fine.

Any pictures? I just ordered mine today. I wish they came in blue to match my interior but I need something now as the carpet is getting dirty. \

I’m not shilling for the TuxMat but having just watched two video reviews of the Wooev mats I can say the the TuxMat is not only a better fit but much better quality

I ordered the WooEV mats and they are due for delivery today. I'll let the group know how they fit once I get them.

Mine are out for delivery today too! WOO HOO!

The tuxmats have a pretty ugly texture to them. They look too puffy. Just not for me. The wooev mats look more normal for me. But if those are not fitting really well, I can wait. It is not like it rains in So Cal.

Obviously each have their own taste. The wooev look utilitarian. The TuxMat look more upscale. They are not at all puffy in person

WooEV is not good quality and fitting is awful. Front passenger side never sat correctly near the center console. The hook holes are slight off causing the mat not to sit flush to the floor where it meets the driver side mat.
