  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all,

After clicking around in the Connected Services app, I stumbled upon the "Service History Tool" button on the main menu. Once inside of the Service History Tool I noticed another button on the top right which lets me add a service. I changed my oil last month at 4400 miles. I changed the oil early because I bought the car used from the dealer and I have trust issues with dealers so I went ahead and changed it myself. Has anyone else used this tool to add personal maintenance services to their vehicle? I assume I just post photos of my receipts and add it to the app.

I entered quite a few entries so far for our G70, via the Genesis owner's website. Pretty sure they all go into the same account, whether you signed in with smartphone apps or the web version. I didn't bother to upload photos, just mileage, date, and the items we did. It's mostly for personal records anyway.

OK, when I purchased the car, under the fine print its states that I need to keep up with maintenance and have records to maintain its Certified Pre-owned warranty. Would you think this will cover me down the road? Or should I still take it into the $tealership for services?

Yes, I do all my own oil changes, and have added them there, as well as everything else, like tire replacement and so on.

ok, awesome! Ill be sure to add the information to the app! Thank you all for your insights!

Information is nice but it is the receipts that count. I don’t recall there being a place in the app for them. Best to keep the yourself, either scan them or save the paper.

I haven't tried with the app, but the website (Genesis Owners Homepage | MyGenesis) does have the ability to upload documents with each entry. I upload pdfs from scans of receipts.

I never take my cars to dealers for service, unless I absolutely have to, like a recall I cannot do myself (or too costly). So yes, I also changed the oil on my new 2023 G70 at 1,500 miles, and uploaded it to the site, but didn't upload any pictures. I keep a separate log myself, and put all receipts in a folder. Anyway, I don't think the site will take my input into consideration, but we'll see when the 1st maintenance according to the system is reached. As a side note, I unchecked maintenance (actually almost all) warnings, and still got a message that service was needed on both the car and site at 2,400 miles and 2+ months of ownership. Had to call to see what the heck was going on, and it finally disappeared (an error, obviously). I'm fearing they might keep bothering me when the service is due according to them, but we'll see.

Yes already had all receipts in a folder to keep for my personal records, but it wasn't until this morning that I discovered that I can input them myself. I am very happy that this is an option so that I can conduct all maintenance myself and not have to worry about shady shenanigans from some dealerships.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Not sure where you are, but if it's here in the US, dealers cannot deny warranty because the owner does not have all service records. Unless, of course, evidence makes it obvious that is the cause of failure - for example: severe sludge build-up in your engine suggesting lack of oil changes.

In fact, of the times I had to have warranty work done, not once did the dealership asked for prove of service records or say anything relating to that. I used to keep a folder of receipts and docs, etc. for every car I own, but I've long since given up on that. I write things down in a notebook (or excel file) really only to remind myself when I did what, so I can keep on the right schedule.

Not suggesting keeping a maintenance folder like that is futile exercise. Just saying it isn't a requirement for warranty purposes.

Yeah, it's sad many dealers can't even do an oil change right, but it's critical to do it correctly, and with the proper (fully synthetic 0/30) fluid as well. So I'm not taking my vehicles for service there, even when I already paid for that for 3 years. Ha ha. I do everything myself, and take the time to do it correctly.

im doing my own on the 23 just to avoid some valet putting 70 miles on the car for an oil change at the only dealer 35 miles away

I'm planning on using both the Connected Services web site to record my periodic service, and keep paper records. Web sites can fail. Here's a link to my experience: Overly-optimistic Connected Services While some dealers and automotive brands are keen to proactively please their luxury brand owners (like us), I wouldn't bet on it. Saving the receipts is easy insurance.

The app is the worse, it does not even sync with the website. I did log all my services on mygenesis.com, and none of it appear on the app, the 2 things don't even talk to each other. None of the dealer services show up in either (but they show up in Carfax). Nothing like the good old paper folder where I religiously keep all my invoices. I do not trust the poor tech from Genesis

I always keep a log with receipts. I also log what I do on the Genesis website, but that's secondary. And basically to try to prevent stupid maintenance warnings, but it doesn't seem to help, unfortunately. I keep getting service due like if I had done nothing. We'll see after I pass 7,500 miles, which is about to happen on my '22 SF, but far from that with the '23 G70. At least hope it doesn't bother me on the infotainment. I turned off all such alerts, but we'll see.
