  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm experiencing a weird issue if I connect to Apple CarPlay while on a call, I'm getting non stop error messages until I disconnect. I have to end the call then reconnect, is this expected?

Today (11/10) CarPlay completely stopped working (blank screen, no media and phone support). I had to do a hard reboot for CarPlay to work. This is annoying and wondering do I need to take it to dealer to check?

I have never seen any of those issues and I’m on CarPlay daily and taking phone calls with no issues.

Have the same exact phone and iOS with no issues. Could it be the cable? Carplay can be fussy about cables.
Thanks for the tip, let me test with different cable.

Make sure you are using an MFi certified cable in good condition. Even the best quality cables don't last forever.

I had CarPlay acting weird- where the CarPlay screen would come back on after I turned the car off (even though I have media set to be off after power off). The screen stayed up and I could unpause, but I couldn't hear anything as the stereo was off. After a few days of that I got a black screen. When I disconnected my phone and went to the Home Screen, the Oct OTA update alert was waiting for me. After that update, the problem stopped.

Afterwards, I had wondered if the display coming back on after power-off was supposed to be showing me that there was an OTA update available, but somehow the CarPlay screen was taking precedence. It was speculation, but since I always have the CarPlay screen up, I thought that if not for that glitch, I might not have seen the OTA update alert

Your hypothesis is likely correct. Remember you can set the car to continue to play audio when turned off, where it will turn off audio when a door is opened instead, if that's your desired behavior.
