  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In reverse, the surround-view appears automatically and stays on for a bit of forward driving as well. It re-appears when the car senses that I'm pulling forward into the garage space, which is understandable. But sometimes it doesn't activate when I'm pulling forward into a parking lot space and I'd like to see how much of a buffer I've got around the car. Other than going into reverse for a second, is there a way to activate it manually?

It will not come on unless it detects something that you may hit. Any time the sensors pick up an obstacle when you are below 5 MPH, the camera will turn on. If you want it on for parking, just push the button to turn the camera on.

ah, but that's exactly my question--which button? i haven't found it yet.

The button on the center console, where you rest your elbow, with a picture of a camera and a letter P on it.

hmm--i figured that was the button (it looks like one on my audi) but when i've pushed it i didn't see anything happen...unless maybe i need to be going less than 5 mph. i'll give it a try.

Yes the camera turns off above a set speed.
