  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’ve pretty much been in a nightmare scenario with a used g70. Corporate says they cant force the dealership to do anything and actually told me to get in touch with a lawyer. Obviously I dont want this dragged out any longer than the 3 months it has been already. If I feel that the dealership manager is trying to bury this, and I wanted to contact the owner himself what would be the best way to go about this? I tried looking everywhere for an email or number listed on one of the multiple dealerships they own but they seem to be behind the scenes. Im also not holding my breath but theres still hope that my issues are resolved.

Even today, the best impact is a letter on paper delivered by the USPS. Emails and text get lost, letters stand out.

Make an appointment and a go in a talk to them face to face. If you can’t find anyone who can get you on their calendar, go in first and ask for a meeting. Don’t take any excuses for not setting up a sit down. Don’t include the manager.

The best way is to lay out the facts Orderly, no cursing, no threats, just explain.
This was the situation
This is what was or was not done
This is what I expect for resolution

Yes, your right about that. And if you spew hate right off the top, you will put them in a defensive mode. I always start out something like "I like your company, I have have had great experiences with your product and will continue to be a customer, but how I have a problem......

I ended up getting the managers direct email address an sent a well written email outlining the ordeal from start to current. Pretty much was told to send him a list of my issues, photos of the brakes, rotors, and tires because he can only go off what his records say. He requested for me to bring it back for everything to be corrected. Wouldn't tow it though, but I felt comfortable enough to drive it close enough to have Geico tow it the rest of the way without it costing me. Called on Monday to get an update and they agreed to replace the brakes, rotors, tires, and rack and pinion (this part is on backorder with no eta which is kind of scaring me.)

Another side question, they didn't have any loaners to offer. Previously the corporate rep had said they do rental reimbursement but would not provide the amount in writing. I've read a LOT of horror stories of people having to chase hyundai corporate for rental reimbursement and half those stories the customers were short changed from the amount they were verbally told. I've been trying to track down a pdf that states how much Genesis reimburses but can't quite find anything. I've been really lucky during this ordeal to borrow my sister's car who works from home but that generosity is wearing thin months later.

I've had positive experiences with talking with the GM directly. To be honest, I never met a sales Mgr at Genesis stores I've done business with.

Each time I buy a vehicle I make it a point to meet the top dog at the dealership. I make sure to get to know him/her and I make sure that they know my name. I also drop in to see them when I’m there for parts, or service, etc. I make sure that I share my service experiences with them, good and bad.

Interestingly enough with a certified G70 I was able thru my local zone CS to reach national CS and they can not force anything but they were very helpful in a positive manner as I always felt their positive presence in my negotiation with a hostile dealership. I found “Mary” who was on top of it including returning all my phone calls and providing assurances that I was in the right and should seek dealership settlement. I have a tread in regard to this matter.
