GV70 Steering Wheel Controls Stopped Working

Is your software up to date? What’s the firmware number ?

I looked, it said there were no updates.

Had a gentleman in recently with warnings on the dash and steering wheel controls were not illuminated and non-responsive. Took off the airbag, unplugged everything and plugged it all back in. Works great now.

All I had to do was update my software and everything was perfect. I had April 2021 software at the time.

I have the download on the thumb drive, but the instructions don’t say which USB port to use? Which port did you use Pearlturbo?

One has a charging icon on it. You use the other one.

Yup, the one on the left. Same one you would use for Android Auto or Carplay if you use those.

Update went well. Thanks guys. However, it looks like I’m going to keep my service appointment…
My steering wheel ancillary controls are still dead. :-(

Have you drove around after the update? Mine didn’t work immediately after the update. I drove around afterwards and by the next day everything was working. Haven’t had a problem since. Also reset your head unit. Hold down nap and setup until the logo appears.

I’ve put 100 miles on it since the update. Still dead. :-(. And I have no paddles, no cruise control and no access to the digital speedometer! Hopefully I won’t be driving the loaner GV80 too long…

Has anybody got an actual fix for this? Or is it a dealer thing?

I've tried resetting head unit.
Updated to latest firmware. Still no good.
Another symptom I have when we turn the car on is, the AC is set to off, and the clock shows --:-- .
User settings and name are fine though - it remembers the seat positions etc.
I've booked it in for the dealer to have a look at in a weeks time.

We have a coolant leak as well where the part is being ordered in from Korea. I had to talk fast and hard to get the Mrs to go with genesis over Audi/BWM and between these 2 issues it's not looking so good. Such a shame as the car is great to drive.

Well mine fixed itself after a week lol. Maybe yours will go back to normal? We can only hope!

I fixed mine by disconnecting the battery that’s in the back of the vehicle. Left it off for two hours in the garage and then reconnected it. I haven’t had the problem happen ever since that one time. I feel like it needed a real reset by that disconnect.
