  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Should premium gas be used for GV70?

Do you use premium gas?

. Just because a gas station doesn't have TT gas doesn't mean that the gas has no additives. It most likely does in order to burn clean too. Anyway, I for one, wouldn't waste my time looking for a station with TT gas.
Every gas has additives to meet the government requirements. Your opinion on TT is just that, an opinion.
Sure, marketing is touting but but you have no evidence it is not different. Facts matter.

Yes, I'd like to see the facts on how TT is 'cleaner' than other non-TT gas and how much longer it guarantees to extend engine life. I doubt it does. You have any facts to share, though? I think the only thing TT does is reduce emissions, by a smidgen, maybe? Again, I don't have any facts but I'm not the one making the claims. ;)

This reminds me of GM Dexos oil. Oil companies needed to buy a license from GM certifying their oil met the Dexos 'standard'. Again, I doubt very much that it was any better than oils prior to Dexos coming into being.

TT gas. The remark I’m going to make is in no way to dispute, argue or anything with the subject. I had no idea what TT gas was until this thread. I have used WAWA and Sunoco solely for a very long stretch. Fuel has never been an issue. I used what’s called for on the door… if the next higher grade is a few pennies more I might use it.

Consumer reports and AAA? And an unnamed test facility? Unnamed brands of gas? Article written by a journalist? Really? Now if the testing was done by a facility such as the Southwest Research Institute, then the article would have credibility. The big question is, how often do you TT gas users check for carbon build up on your valves?:D

If your car only recommends premium, the choice is yours.

With certain vehicles like the Ford F-150 and Mazda MX-5 Miata, automakers recommend premium gas but don’t require it. Research by AAA found that these vehicles saw a slight increase in performance and fuel economy using premium gas. For those who drive a luxury or performance vehicle, premium gas can help emphasize your vehicle’s intended characteristics.

But if your owner’s manual says “premium fuel recommended,” you can safely run on regular. Depending on what and how you drive, commuters looking to get from Point A to Point B may not notice the difference or care. At the end of the day, it all comes down to your preference. Your car, your rules.

Filling a near empty tank to full using Premium would add close to $18-20 more per tank vs. regular.
yep,,,in ohio it is about a dollar or more for super unleaded ,,,a years time your talking hundreds of dollars
