  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,
When attempting to use the voice navigation by pressing the voice button on the steering wheel, this was displayed on screen:
"SDS is operating in the background. Please try again later"
It began working 20 minutes later, and this was the first time it happened.

Any ideas about this? Thanks

SDS stands for the "Students Democratic Society" which was a very big anti-government left wing commie group back in the 60's. Obviously some of them are now older and working on the assembly line at Hyundai. What they have done is program all Hyundai car phones to call in once a day for orders. I have a feeling that in the near future, all Hyundais will be given the command to speed into Washington and destroy the Capital and all the idiots that work there. After that... it's onto the White House. Get ready to enjoy the ride.

PS. keep a lunch ready to go in your trunk for the long trip. Stay tunned-

YES!!

Too funny

:D :D
Seriously though, it normally happens when you press the voice recognition button too soon after starting your car.
About a minute after your car's been on, it'll work fine.

I like the other explanation better

I've had the same issue, sometimes taking 30-50 minutes before the system comes up.

Along with a few other issues, another NAV issue also, my car is headed to the service dept next week.

Thanks for you responses. I found this on Youtube concerning XM service and possible DIS problems.

Have other owners not bought the XM service and noticed anything?
