Nav system update issues. And can I replace the entire unit with a newer edition

I've been trying to update the SD card for my 2015 5.0 by getting a new 32bit sd card and going to myhyndai.com technical support. After almost 4 hours of going through my MacBook pro I put in the new SD card and it doesn't work.

Next, can I just get a newer nav system for a 2021 Genesis G80 or another model and replace the entire system

I think if you call the map ppl they'll prob send you a new SD card already loaded with the maps. Might cost something - not sure. Havent updated mine since they changed the radio to a "tube" number look and made it so you cant arrange the sirius stations in the order you want.
Prob cant upgrade your head unit unless it's only a few years out from your OEM - with connectors and such being different

Sure. The lowest cost way to do that is to sell your 2015 and buy a 2021.

I had the same issue. Finally just gave up and accepted the fact that Hyundai makes a great looking car but has zero concern for using outdated tech on each model year. This will be my third and final Hyundai/Genesis

How do you plan to avoid that in the future? What car more than a few years old does not have outdated technology? We, as consumers, demanded updated technology and get upset when the old stuff cannot be supported.

We can still get fuel for and drive a 100 year old automobile but when you add sexy electronics, it is a new game. Just look at how many useable flip phones will be in the trash come January.

Like buying a new computer and by the time you get home a new version is out.

My BMW 2012 535i only took 2 years before the My Connect was discontinued because of it old 2G cell service technology, its not just a Hyundai / Genesis thing, they all do it.
