  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone - I'm in the market for a new vehicle and it must be able to fit three car seats (not boosters) in the back. Does anyone have a Genesis with three car seats? I'll have two front facing and one rear facing. This will be my daily car and is not the family truckster (large suv for that). I just need to get the kiddos to daycare and back.

The Genesis V8 is tops on my list but I want confirmation first from people who have actually used it day in and day out before I load the test drive up with car seats.

Thanks in advance everyone.

They will fit, but those crumb cruncher seats will crease the leather!

I know you might think this a little unusual but I got my mother-in-law, her wheel chair and three young ones and their car seats all snuggly/cozy in the trunk. We had to go 600 miles and believe it or not... it worked beautifully. I was able to watch Animal House and Caddyshack on the video while driving and with with no crying or screaming. Grandma and the kids were able to sleep in total darkness and really enjoy it. Every hundred miles or so I would stop and change the diapers but Grandma got a little embarassed so I gave her a Gatorade bottle to do her thing. The trunk is so roomy she didn't have to get out. I would recommend a Genesis to anyone with kids... or a not so friendly Mother in Law--

The Genesis has upper anchors on each of the 3 back seat positions. It only has lower LATCH anchors on the outside seats, the middle seat does not have lower anchors. So an infant car seat may not be placed in the middle. Width-wise you won't have a problem unless you have really bulky car seats.

flyboy2: you are nuts!

Change Grandmas diapers? Gatorade bottle- kids & granny all in the trunk- funny. And she even arrived at your destination!

I had similar considerations in the past, and found no perfect solution, but the Genesis is about as close as you could get to workable. Most infant rear-facing seats will work the middle lap/shoulder belt per manufacturer recommendations, so I would definitely recommend the infant seat in the middle. I would then use the LATCH attachments for the front-facing child seats. This situation becomes much easier with booster seats that use the Hyundai's lap/shoulder belts, although if the booster squirrels around it can be difficult at times for my kids to buckle themselves in.

I never found a car with LATCH attachments in all 3 positions (don't know if it exists).

Best of luck, least you recognize what cargo is valuable.
