If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Resolution to flutter at 25-30 mph

Flat spotting can occur overnight. Heavy Car .....low profile tire.
Also recently I have had the car sitting on stands overnight due to getting a flat, noise still occurs when cold. Lets put this theory to rest please.

Yes, flat spotting can occur. You should have been around in the days of nylon!
BUT THIS IS NOT A TIRE PROBLEM! If you don't have the problem - thrumming vibration at 30-35mph, then please do not comment!

You got that right...

I had no issues with the Pirelli Cinturado's that came with my car (38k miles). At 50k I replaced them with the same tire but this time with the run flat version. I didn't realize it was the run flats at the time of purchase.

If the car sits overnight in my basement garage (floor is 55 deg. F), the car will shake on the interstate for at least five miles. If left outside on a summer night, no shake at all.

What's worse... If the car sits for three hours or more outside on a 20 deg Wisconsin night, it's like driving on square rocks.

I thought it was proven that the flutter/ticking noise OP mentions is due to Propeller Shaft and it needs to be replaced.

Thanks Alfer! That's my take on it except several posters have said replacement didn't fix their problem.
Arcman's post about his bumpy tires fails to mention that bumpy tires can happen to any car.
Maybe you can tells us: How many driveshafts or their equivalent are there in an AWD Genny? (I didn't know my car had a propeller.) :)

It was. I proved that by removing the rear driveshaft and the vibration went away. My comment was on flat spotting tires.

Yes. Several members posted replacing the driveshaft didn't fix the problem. Several members said it fixed the problem but it came back after thousands of miles.

I don't think I 'failed to mention' anything. Just thought I'd relay my experience with the Pirelli's.

The AWD has three driveshaft sections. One from transfer case to the front differential (via u-joints). The rear shaft is in two pieces. From the trans output shaft, you've got a rubber coupler (Guibo), a short (2ft) shaft to a center bearing support, after that a u-joint, then a 4ft long shaft to the rear coupler and then the rear diff. (those are rough numbers)

Noise occurs on throttle only at low speeds, its not the tires.
Well that certainly sounds like something other than flat spotted tires.
I have a 15 5.0 RWD and don't have that problem. I get flat spots from sitting for more than a couple hours , however it goes away after 5 to 10 miles.
I am am 2 mins from Interstate. Speed limit 80mph so I feel it more than if I lived in the city or metro area.
Good luck to all that have the flutter problem.
That is such a Sh..ty deal for such a nice Car!!

Are you in TX by any chance?

No I'm in South Dakota..
80 mph speed limits and good roads.
Ah ok was going to say that the flutter is not very noticeable when its warm only when cold.

I have driven the car a couple times when it was like 5 degrees and the only issue I had was the flat spotted tires.
Shaking the steering wheel for the first 10 miles then goes away. Nowi just throw a floor jack under each side and take the weight off the tires.
I only do that when I know the car will sit for a couple weeks, and that makes a world of a difference.
I stepped up to a 245 in the back to get some more sidewall and that helped out the ride as well..

Do you engage the parking brake every time you park?

I remove the tires and lie them down q

Yes Almost every time I am on the slight incline.
I believe parking brakes need to be used on a regular basis to keep them freed up and in good working order.

Use mine every day - My drive is on a slight incline. I apply it before going into park to take off some pressure from the transmission.

I am very suspicious of that Giubo rubber coupler.

From the threads the vibrations are coming from both RWD and AWD. Mine is a 2015 RWD and it vibrates the steering wheel. I will get off the highway after a long drive and it will still vibrate between 29 and 35.

Have you tested the new Genny’s and GV’s for similar problems?

I had the 2015 AWD and the slight vibration was an intermittent issue for all of the 6 1/2 years I owned the car. Part of it was certainly flat-spotting, but it reappeared not long after the tires were replaced as well. I have had no such issues with my GV80 in the nearly 3 years and over 32,000 miles I've put on it. I would also note that the tires on the GV80 are wearing much better than any of the sets I had on the 2015.

@BillZ
Thanks for the update on your car. I’ve taken this up to the dealer multiple times over the past 5 years and nothing. That is very good to know about the GV80 especially on the tires. 2015 chews through tires.
