  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was and I mean I was but I just found out that Genesis G80 HUD is not available for ALL g80 trims only on the Sport trim with a V6 engine and a 10K upgrade trim from the 4CL a outrages 10K plus upgrade from one trim to the other. the HUD is available in other countries but not here in the USA a bad decision from the exec in the USA so I turn into a WAS thinking to a No thinking to upgrade - I don't consider a HUD a sport feature its a good safety feature, corporate needs to do something about this if they care.

Many like you and I the Genesis brand is confort, luxury and safety, I as well as many we don't want sport pedals and red trim seating and sport looking rims, we want beauty and confort and safety, leave that to the others yes they are some that like the sport look, I don't so I was willing sacrifice a V6 for a 4 Turbo but now no HUD, and lots of ugly sport looks even no ability to select rims.

No only price has gone up for many reasons you are force to a very close option packages, good for business maybe time will tell. USA corporate have place to much attention to a sport look other brands have discover unsuccessfully those options. Time to wait or look someplace else.

Agree 100%. I'm retired and don't drive as much as I used to but really like the HUD. If I was to buy a car tomorrow, I can't justify the Genesis upgrade to get it so would get it in a Sonata for 30k less.

My Prestige 2021 GV80 did not have it because the car had to have either AWD or a V6 engine, i forget which. I did not want either one. So I don't have HUD. I missed it for a while but now I am used to not having it. 😕

I understand but it's a great safety feature always keeping your eyes on the road and provide you with side warnings and speed limits and navigation updates, at least for me it was available on the G80 and it's only available on sport version and higher bigger engine, but only here in the states in Europe and Asia all have them. But my point is why not here in the USA I am sure you would realize that it could be a option to be able to have with out the penalty of the V6 and AWD pricing.

On another issue further Hyundai (Genesis) is placing it's self into a bad corner. We consumers we will not go to EV till 1) gnrl availability of high speed charges all over the place like Gas stations 2) and EV pricing so now Hyundai announces that will stop production of Gas engines by the end of 2026 so that means buying a GAS car today which is a great decision today the shelf life of your GAS car will be reduce tremendously the resell value and that you will be force to buy in 5-6 years from now a extremely expensive EV.

But going back I was ready to initiate the idea of updating my G80 for a new one but not to the alternative to get the similar futures for a 25% more money and to get a sport look that I personally don't like. So I will stick to what I have or look for someplace else another brand automobile even to go back to Lexus.

I hear you. 5 years back I switch from Lexus to Genesis with Hope of service and features. Genesis has been great product but here is Texas there are not really Genesis dealers they are Hyundai dealers and mostly they don't have any idea how to deal with a high price automobile that Genesis has become. the G90 for example it's a 100K automobile the service places are Hyundai places they are not 100K car dealers that is the reason they offer the valet service they don't have stores for customer demand when they purchase a 100K car.

Heck when you buy a 60K Lexus On a Lexus dealership here in Texas the customer service is second to none. So now Genesis is offering beautiful cars with great quality and competitive pricing, service here in Texas is not to it. and then you have to buy what is use to be some option for a 30% more something is not working here.

Not sure where you read that but everything I read just says they're going to stop the development of gas engines, not production and sales. If you buy a new Hyundai in 2034, you can still get a gas powered car... the engine will just be of a 10 year old design. Genesis on the other hand, I believe the next generation of cars will be EV only.

I’ve got HUD on my two other vehicles and like it when I get back in those but I had to make a choice when I got the GV70. Spend another $5k for some hideous 21” wheels with the waffle pattern look, ELSD I really didn’t care about (it’s a suv) but get the HUD and the 12.3 3D gauge cluster 👍🏻 or save $5k and got the Advanced package. I put my own 21” Ferrada on the GV70 and it really filled in the wells nicely.

I thought this vehicle was going to be a G70 3.3 Prestige but was bummed about the analogue gauges and missing the transmission dial I’d grown fond of and force to take black wheels (pass). So I was thrilled that the G80 2.5t awd Sport Prestige had the 3D gauge cluster and the awesome three spoke steering wheel like my GV70. I wouldn’t have bought this if it didn’t have the SPORT package and had to consider wood grain trim and grandpa’s two spoke steering wheel. And NOT have to have those hideous waffle 20” wheels on the 3.5t Prestige version.

I’m 64 and also get to play with my C6 personalized with an Edelbrock SC, headers and Borls’s, etc. so I understand the importance of wanting a car that looks right for your taste, I’m just the guy that Genesis must have targeted with the Sport package and I love it.
