My 2009 Genesis sedan keeps cutting off and then idles super high when I crank it back up.

But what’s weird is if I turn it off immediately after I start it back up and then restart it again the idle goes back to normal level. I can’t figure out what it is.

Some cars (I don't know about yours) will set a high idle when restarted after a stall event in an effort to keep the engine from stalling again.
