  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

We're just about to "do the deal", however, my wife finds the passenger seat comfort and lack of adjustment rather disappointing. Her comment - when I put on the brakes, she could feel herself sliding forward (the passenger seat is not nearly as supportive for her as the Buick Lacrosse we drove)
I know there have been comments re the lack of 8 way support for the passenger seat.
Has anyone found a way to make the seat more "comfortable" for the passenger.

Thanks

I would suggest just getting a new wife that fits the seat

My wife complained that the seat was "too low", but moving the seat forward actually raises the seat height because of the cant of the seat rails.
I did some minor "adjustments" to the seat mounting - there is enough room on the bolt ends to place several washers without uncovering any nut threads. This will not affect the structural integrity of the seats. In theory one could examine just how the seat is mounted to the seat frame. There may be room for similar modification at this mounting.

Get a piece of rubberized waffle weave shelf liner and put it on the seat. That should hold her in place.

I raised the seat on a few steel blocks. I suppose you could raise only the front mounts up a bit just as easily, making a bit more of a seat angle.

I have also raised the drivers seat up 1" on all four mounts, and plan on another 1" when I get around it.

A good idea, cept I've only seen the waffle stuff in beige and the interior is black
Should the waffle be on the seat or on her clothes.

Love the "humour" on this board

You're right - come to think of it, I've only seen it in beige also. However, I don't put it on the seat unless my wife is sitting there - her lovely derriere covers it completely, and she sticks in that seat like glue. Can't argue with success! Your idea of affixing to the clothing works too - maybe even better: you don't have to keep putting it away when it's not in use:D

Hyundai already has this covered. Just find the trigger for the passenger side Airbag and leave it inflated. That should hold her in place. :D:D

Not to further hijack this thread, but FYI, Sears sell black non-skid shelf liner for use in their tool boxes.
