  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone successfully painted their front grill?

It is a chrome plated plastic with that dark tint film over it so I cannot even imagine there is a way to pauint the thing and it stay on.

I hate it in the dark chrome anymore and with my Carbon Fiber Blinker housing and front trim and front ADRO LIP it is the odd man out.

I recently used Raptor Flat Black Wheel paint for my chrome exhaust rings and it has held up like new after a few months but this is plastic so I am not sure what will happen if I try it. It is wheel paint but this is a plastic grill.

I thought to have it dipped but still the thought of it peeling or chipping is not fun.

I did see a Carbon Fiber one it is sooooo nice but it was like $600. I gotta wait that is a lot for a grill that I would be happy with in just black.

Not specific to your car but with a previous vehicle I asked my body shop specialist about this exact issue with a plastic (non metal) grille and he said I would NOT be happy with the results. Paint, plastic, and front impact/insects/road debris/etc are a terrible combination. Nature wins. I lose.

I saw one Plastidipped but it was too bleh for me.

I mean it was cool but I need it to be a different black.

I know a place that would do the CF on the outer ring and I guess I just leave it that stupid gold, dark chrome. It just no longer matches my car.

I saw a few people that had the Sport Prestigue I think that comes with a black grill but not sure that was available in the 2020 and if so finding one seems impossible as the ones on Ebay are all chrome/dark.
