  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all

Bit of a daft question but is it possible to set the bsm to show at certain speeds? It appears to activate when above like 30kmh but not below, I have driven other cars and these show bsm even when stopped at traffic lights?? Just a thought

Nothing user changeable.
The system will activate when:
1. The function is on.
2. Vehicle speed is above about 20
mph (30 km/h).
3. An oncoming vehicle is detected
in the blind spot area.
First stage alert
If a vehicle is detected within the
boundary of the system, a warning
light will illuminate on the side view
mirror.
Once the detected vehicle is no
longer within the blind spot area, the
warning will turn off according to the
driving conditions of the vehicle.

Bummer worth a try but thank you for letting me know 👍👍

To add to that, they usually (they do on mine) also function when you are in reverse. In that case, they give the rear cross traffic warnings.

Kiwiger,

Are you sure those other cars when stopped weren't using the ultrasonic parking sensors instead of the blindspot radar sensors? That would be common.

They also shut down if they receive no input for over an hour.... Happened to me when driving in BFE West Texas where I had not seen / passed a single car. Kinda freaky.

Hiya
Yep sure I have driven some mercs and Audi who’s bsm activate even when stopped at traffic lights, it’s not a big issue just wondered if you could adjust the speed setting of it

Is there a way to turn the function ON or OFF?

The BSM on my 2017 G80 quit working recently.

Oops. When I looked someone had installed a button to turn the BSM off & on in my car. That was pretty sneaky of them!
😊😊😊
