  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone installed these Korean spec dual HID headlights?

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this has been posted before. I thought I saw a thread about this, but can’t remember.

These headlights are available for the 2015-2016 Hyundai Genesis. They appear to be a Korean spec that was seen at the Korean launch.

Has anyone bought these and determined if they’re plug and play?

Thank you. 55ABD118-34E7-4B42-922C-BD307655CE69.webpCA491ABB-4003-49A2-8B6F-7BE67982CB8C.webp

I thought the 2015-16's had HID lights... I know mine are.

I think that HID was optional, and halogen (low and high beam) was base. I'm pretty sure the optional HID in the US was single (HID low beam, halogen high beam), and not the dual he is asking about.

I have the Ultimate - I'm sure I have HID, I can tell by how they power up. Wish they were LED - my low beams suck.

To clarify, the headlights shown in the first post are dual as in two HID projectors. They also feature an LED indicator built into the LED DRL. These appear to be Korean exclusive. The majority of the vehicles featured the single HID projector with bi-xenon/HID (and didn’t come with an LED front indicator).

I see… might take some doing to make them work with US cars - they kinda messed with the wiring. If it’s a LED indicator, it might explain why our cars roast the DRL wiring - it was originally intended for LED instead of incandescent, which draws a lot more power.

Yes, the ultimate had HIDs, but not dual HIDs (in the US). Note that I said base 2015s had halogen only.
