  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know this thread came up last year but I still haven't found a solution. Has anyone else? My car has been sitting idle for a while and I would expect there to be a way to check battery status but there doesn't appear to be. This seems absolutely crazy stupid. I know Canada gets shafted on most features from Genesis, but this is ridiculous!

Before anyone with the US app tells me to look on the app or the website - Canadians do not have the same app or website and we do not see battery status on the app. I don't see it anywhere on the instrument panel as an option either.

WTF?

Yeah unfortunately there is no way for us in Canada to check the battery level on the app, website nor instrument panel. It kinda sucks that the US market has that feature in the app and website but we don't. For me it's not such a big deal though but it would be nice know.

Actually, I never noticed that you cannot. I just presumed we also had that feature. Agree 100%. It totally sucks. I too would like that option because my GV can sit for 4 or 5 days without moving and in the extreme winter cold, would like to have the ability to check, even though it is parked in a garage. Maybe we should take a few mins and ping Genesis Canada to add this feature that is offered in the US. Obviously doable.

You could try to get a vpn and put yourself in the US?

I'm suppose to get my car late this week so if I do I can test that.

An option, but would be impossible to read because lighter socket is at front of console storage and horizontal, and I don't want to have to go into my GV and turn it on to see battery status.
It's bluetooth. Should pair to your phone.

Just be careful as some cars leave power going to the cig lighter and things like this, when cheaply made, can drain a weak battery over the course of a few days. ;)
You wouldn't leave it in the cigar lighter. You only want to use it to check the charging system while the engine is running and the battery voltage prior to startup. If the battery condition requires anything more than that, then a battery load tester should be used. I don't see it as a big deal not having a voltmeter as there are other telltale signs of a battery not being up to snuff.

Oh, I have! It might take a few of us though...
