  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello! My name is Mary I’m from Ohio and I love my Genesis! Though I love my Genesis, I have had three incidences now where I am driving my car and it will just die… the hazard lights won’t even come on. After 10-15 minutes, it will start. Has anyone had this issue? Does anyone know what I should do? I have had reading diagnostics and nothing is showing up… ugh!

Welcome. Just letting you know that I moved this discussion out of the community lounge and into the Genesis G70 forum.

These can be tricky. Is the car still under warranty?

I'd start simple....is the battery original? Are the terminals that attach the battery clean and solidly connected? Newer cars are quite sensitive to battery condition. Batteries can still start a car but be failing in a way that causes cars to exhibit all sorts of odd behaviors. I have no idea if this is your issue but it's something to consider and a good, easy way to start.

Zero CELs come up?

I had the battery checked and had a diagnostic ran. Everything checked out okay. It happened when I had the "Eco" dial engaged so I switched it to custom. That seemed to work for a while, then it died again when I stopped at an intersection. The entire car just died, no power at all, not even hazards. Very scary.

Thanks for reaching out. I am not sure, would that help? I have a manual is all. I did some research, would a possible loose fuse cause her to just lose all power in an instance? I love your car, by the way, we seem to have the same taste in interior/exterior color with the smoked rims!

Theres no check engine light on the dash?

Im wondering if you have a dirty MAF sensor. If your able, pop it out and clean it with a MAF cleaner. Could even be spark plugs but i think it would be more noticable on acceleration.

When the car dies, the instrument cluster is still on right?

Did this all happen on the same tank of gas?
