  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2021 Engine Start-Stop feature

Yes - I agree, ASS (auto start stop) WAS very annoying and useless. See my previous thread:

PERMANENT FREE FIX TO TURN OFF AUTO STOP/START FEATURE

The "fix" has worked reliably without incident in my car for over 15,000 miles.
It was an awesome fix, and it's what I used for the first 4K miles.
Unfortunately, plastic shrinks and changes size depending on temperature...
So mine has failed and now the button actually sticks.
I purchased the AliBaba "fix", but I am hesitant to use it because of possible, but yet unreported, electrical issues.
I am no longer able to install myself, so that's the other issue.

Do you still have the "Auto Hold" feature on your car with the ISG? Last week I drove my friend's Audi A8 with ISG and it starts as soon as you lift your foot off the brake pedal and has no auto hold. I'd miss that feature.

I have not had a "shrinkage problem" (LOL for you Seinfeld fans).
Maybe you were not using a thick enough piece of plastic to begin with, or had not inserted it tight enough.
And if the "fix" on my car failed such that the button permanently stuck with ASS off, I would be thrilled. ASS feature sucks, period. Shame on Genesis for crapping up our cars with it. Just my opinion, yours may vary with mileage.

Comes down to meeting EPA regulations. I think it is sort of funny that my friend's A8 has it but my Sonata does not. She paid $60k more for her car too. She hits the button every time it starts.

I think almost everyone hits the button... which his funny, because everyone claims to be an environmentalist. LOL
