Genesis Ranks 11th in J.D. Powers 2023 Quality Study

These forums are full of reported problems we are experiencing with our Genesis vehicles.
It's good to be reminded that we are seeing a distorted view of cutomer experience.
Genesis just missed out ranking in the top 10 in the latest J.D. Powers quality study.
They recorded 176 problems per 100 vehicles just behind Lexus with 171/100 vehicles.

If you go to the J.D. Powers site, they have a detailed description of their methodology.
Remember, they sell the detailed results to businesses. If the quality is low, their business will suffer.
And their Vehicle reliability report put Genesis 2nd just behind Lexus!

Usually, luxury and reliability have an adverse correlation as lux models tend to have more tech, more power, more intricate UI, etc. - and hence, more things likely to go wrong.

To your point, JD Powers notes in their methodology description that there is a very high correlation between overall reliability and 90 day reliability.

Not true for the RELIABILITY study shown above where Genesis placed second. The 2023 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study is based on responses from 30,062 original owners of 2020 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership. The study was fielded from August through November 2022.
So even better than the Initial Quality study.
