  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Clearly, I have to get the dealership to fix this, but I was curious if anyone else has had issues with the infotainment touchscreen thinking that it has been touched?

2019 3.3T, 25k, all packages.

There seems to be a spot in the lower right of my screen that is defective. It "taps" itself - sometimes just a single tap, other times fast, repeating taps. It can make a drive quite frustrating when it occurs, and obviously makes some functions unusable. BEEP ... BEEPBEEP ... BEEP ... BEEP ... BEEP ... BEEPBEEP.

I don't see any damage and have cleaned the screen but it still occurs in the same spot. Seems to be a defect in the screen.

Just chiming in with my 2 cents.

I had the same issue with my 2019 (3.3 TT sport) it started happening 6 months into ownership and got progressively worse as time went on. I took it in to the dealership and they said they took and look and did a (reset) of the hud. The issue continued to persist so I ended up selling my 2019 in 2022.

The spot that was being phantom clicked was the upper right corner - if I squeezed the upper right corner the issue would sometimes go away. I assume its a contact issue. Good luck hope you got this issue fixed.

Exactly. Had this on 2019 g70, top right corner.
Whenever you had the map opened full screen in sun / heat it would scroll the map to the top right infinitely.
This weird behaviour was most likely caused by the top right corner screen delamination that happened a bit later. I had the display replaced at the dealership since then and don't think its been an issue since..

I'm almost certain those two issues were related.

I have been having the same issue on my 2019 G70 3.3T with less than 20k miles. It is random and not too frequent yet. Seems like the lower right corner on mine. Was happening with older firmware as well as the latest (I updated the Maps/Navigation in May or June 2023 and now have the new, darker color scheme). Will this (screen replacement) be covered under warranty? I'm the original owner, just over 3 years.

Talk to your dealer. It's a manufacturing defect so it should be. Mine was out of warranty but they still covered it..
