  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm waiting on the BMS Oil catch-can and the Fuel-it Ethanol Analyzer to show up before putting her back out into the streets where she belongs.

The JB4 was pretty straightforward in installation. The Optional OBDii wire running from the OBDii port inside the car and through the firewall was really the biggest PITA (aside from the spark plug swap). Wish the fuel wires were a bit longer for better wire clean-up, but zip ties did a good enough job.

Dang it, for a moment I thought you had the V8 until I saw your engine.
Was hoping to get feedback for the V8 before I get one.

Not with its milage, you don't. Sure, the sound and response of the V8 is great but it's a guzzler for sure. My brother had a G70 3.5T and it had far better milage than I did, I admit it made me jealous.

Was thinking of jumping ship to electric cars but I have to say I expected much better performance and milage on the eG80. Tesla is definitely great but they're too bland and boring on the inside. And don't get me started on shifting from the screen!

Any advice on installation? Any youtube vids you could recommend on sparkplug change or the install on g80? All I'm seeing is stingers and g70, i know the engines are same but not everything under the hood is 100% same

I'll be honest with you...I wouldn't recommend doing it. In fact, the next time my G80 requires new plugs, it's going to a shop/dealership. Without removing the entire manifold, it's WAY to risky/easy to incorrectly remove/install that passenger side plug underneath the intake.

But damn, mechanics near me want $250+. Got me thinking

I would pay that in an instant and would have had that been an option for me locally when I did my install. The dealership is double that, easily.

Go to express auto oil change. Last time i went for an oil change I asked and the charge for a 18 g80 3.3t it'd be a little less than $300, I forgot the exact amount. I imagine you have one around your area

I wish I had a V8 AWD!
Let me tell you the V8 is an amazing engine especially with Htrac, love how much power it has in the lower RPMs compared to a 3.8 Genesis I had before… a major upgrade and you won’t be disappointed with the Tau 5.0. The gas mileage all depends, at least on mine is getting 19mpg being modest which it isn’t bad at all.

Last time I took my car for an oil change service the dealer gave me a brand new 2023 G70 Sport Prestige and that car was wild to the fact that I wanted to replace it with mine. It felt quicker probably weighing less and being more sport oriented.

I'm 100% jelly you own a V8 AWD...in FLORIDA. I'm up here in South Dakota where we actually use AWD/4x4 (My car sits in the garage 6 months/year and sees no winter duty).

I really do like the newer gens, but I can NOT get over the headlights. They look like Jeep Cherokees. I love the front end of my G80 Sport.

I agree with you AWD down here is worthless but is always good to have it. The newer one especially the G80 its not my style especially the back design and the headlights in my opinion does not look good at all which also it’s missing the bending light option from the older Gens.

I ( am born/raised) have a home down in st. pete and have lost control on the Howard Franklin bridge in my mustang, so AWD is 100% useful down there, if for no other reason, during spring/summer storms...and I certainly wish I had it in that moment.
