  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,
Was wondering if I should do a muffler delete on my 2014 Genesis sedan, 3.8 V6
Just want opinions on what I should do or any other ideas
Thanks!

No. Unless you love drone

Depends on what you'd like out of it. If you just want it to be louder, you can go the muffler delete route, see if you like it and if not just put it back on.
You can also just get an actual muffler from like Borla, Magmaflow, Flowmaster etc, or go to your local custom exhaust shop and tell them what you want and they can help you out.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Any suggestions then?
So I think @Chad86tsi has a ideal set up on his DH. He deleted the 2nd cats and went full 2.5 inch into the stock mufflers. He had a shop open up the muffler inlets to 2.5 as well. Sounds like it has a nice rumble and some performance gains as well. You guys with the BHs also have removable primary cats. The DHs have them intergraded into the exhaust manifold 😭😭😭

I have the same year, make, and model as you and I love the muffler delete. The only time it drones or sounds like it's drowning is when it's really hot out. Luckily I live in portland so lots of cool rain air here, which my genesis loves. When I switch between sport mode/manual shift and automatic I get 2 completely different sounds. I love it. Sometimes people will instigate a race and I'll be in auto with nothing real special going on, then we'll hit the red light and I'll switch over to sport/manual and let her bark. Haha I looooovvveeee it!!!!
