  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Naturally, the Equus is aimed at usurping market share from the Germans and some of the Japanese. Maybe they will sell everyone one of them into the market, but how about this....:

Who knows how to evanlgelize the higher end Hyundai product better than a Genesis owner? I, for one of many, just LOVE the attention and questions my re-badged Genesis gets.
If Hyundai Motors were to work a deal with Hyundai Finance offering Genesis owners a fiscal incentive to move up to the Equus, all sales and marketing problems would be solved.
The Equus quota on the street would be fulfilled. Lots of people talking and driving this magnificent auto.
AND, Big PLUS, Hyundai could control the resale/depreciation of the Genesis.

My Genesis will be 2 years new in January. I love it. However, I would listen if Hyundai were to give me a call about the Equus.

Hyundai, and fellow Genesis owners, what do you think?

For a few that might make sense... I , for one, wouldn't be interested in a larger car.... Its a great car, just not what I was or am looking for...

The Eqquis is way too large. I would have to remove shelving in my garage to even get it in and have room to get around it.

What would I do with even more rear seat room. There is seldom anyone in my back seat as it is and then only for a short time.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at some of the gadgets that were hinted at in the survey if they were offered on a Genesis. A cooled and more adjustable right front seat would be very welcome.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Putting aside whether or not we think the Equus is a good car, too big, too big for our garages or whether or not we want it ourselves - specifically - let's move forward...

I think the idea has merit... Anybody else?

Yes. And I wouldn't be surprised to get something in the mail or at Think Tank along those lines. Possibly HAPP/Circle pricing PLUS a $2K rebate PLUS early out of current leases? Makes sense to me, and we've still got a couple/few months to find out if it makes sense to them.

Yeah, all of that sounds good...Somebody should post a link to this discussion over at the Hyundai Think Tank website. I can't seem to start a new discussion and I can't even find the old Equus discussions...

I don't see them doing anything aside from the ordinary owner's loyalty. Maybe an additional 1k to get a Genesis owner into an Equus, but I don't see them subsidizing it anymore.

I am sure their financial arm will be giving some great deals on the Equus already.

Just reply to the Mod's starter post. And the archives are in PDF at the bottom of the Equus page.

Fyi, I just posted this:

Some fellow Genesis owners are having a discussion at this link about possible incentives for us to move up to Equus. Maybe Hyundai can at least take a glance at it, and at best...

Thank you! Unfortunately for me, the new Think Tank site is far too over-done and slow for me to easily participate...

They should offer the Equuis to people in the order of purchase date of the Genesis. Those that bought the first Genesises should be offered the first Equuises at a discount. Especially since the early buyers paid the highest price for the Genesis.

I have told two dealers not to bother calling me until they are discounting them. Rick Case told me they would be charging more than list price without knowing what the list price would be.

FRC. You can figure it out.

That's a great idea. I bet Hyundai doesn't do something like this though at introduction. They'll see how well it sells on its own. Will existing Genesis owners upgrade without incentive? Are there enough non-Hyundai owners willing to buy it?

I bet if they do something like this, it'll be at end of first year if they have more left over than expected.
