  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey everyone - new to the group! Loving my new GV70 - came from BMW 2020 X3M.

Could use some advice with the front plate mounting. (NY driver)

Seems that my Genesis does not have a front tow hook attachment that I wanted to use to mount my front plate. Anyone have similar issue or any advice? I saw similar posts on this forum, but none of them have this issue apparently - I guess the 2024's do not have that front tow hook option.

Trying to post pics here, but seems to be a web issue at the moment. Will include pics soon as it's available to upload.

Thank you!!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Genesis GV70! How does it compare to the BMW X3M?

I'm glad you found us. This topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the Genesis GV70 exterior forum...

Thank you Sal!

I love the GV70 - a really nice blend of lux & sport. I thought the X3M will be tough to part with, & do miss that power. The GV70 is more comfortable to drive & is honestly plenty of power for NY driving.

Attached are those pics here for reference. Does anyone know where the front tow hitch is?? Did they purposely avoid access to them on the 2024's?

Wonderful car and your color is stunning. At first I was like oh not another one of these licence plate mount posts.
OMG they did remove it. If you don't require a front plate then great but if you do it looks like you'll have no choice but to mount it where it goes...
Actually it isn't so bad. I've had one of those kits and haven't used it. Been seeing posts where people are saying it is interfering with the sensors as well. Just use a smoked licence plate cover and it looks perfectly fine as it will sort of blends with the dark grill. Still able to see the licence plate find so no worries there.

Haha, I guess they did do away with it then.

Thanks for the reply. I bought the tow plate kit off ebay, hoping to return it now. I ended up mounting the plate to the grill with the stock kit from dealer. Didn't want to risk any tickets in NYC.

It's surprising that they would do away with it. I would think it be necessary in a safety situation as if me or someone else is stuck and need to push/pull.
