  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Every since I changed the battery on my 2013 Genesis my display has been flashing strobing. The speedometer froze at 65 mph and wouldn't move and the fuel gage showed empty. I put a OBD scanner on it doesn't show any faults. Any suggestion? It doesn't do it all the time.

I'd disconnect the negative cable for ten minutes and see if that resets things. During that 10 minutes, you can light incense, chant, face the sun, dance naked, or any other rituals you think may help.

I did what you suggested. I It is intermittent so it will take a bit to find out if it works. I will let you know but thanks

It's not strobing anymore but all the gauges are not working but light up. Do you know of instrument cluster reset sequence?

Pulling the negative battery cable is the best known reset procedure for pretty much all modules in our cars. Leave it off overnight. Some things can take over 30 mins to discharge and reset.

If that does not work, you can try pulling the CLUSTER fuse in the interior driver's side dash fuse box with the battery connected as a longshot, but the display may be toast. You can also try changing that fuse, just in case it has an intermittent open. Also, you can check various grounds around the car. Start with the connections around the battery.

I have the same problem with my 2014 Genesis 3.8.
Temp, RPM, speedometer, and gas are all stock (temp is normal, rpm stuck at 1250, speed stuck at 30, gas stuck at half). Disconnected the negative cable, but no luck. Pulled the CLUSTER fuse and inserted again, no luck.

Maverick6652, could you share how you resolved this issue??
Thank you.

MY display was dead. A new display was $2200 at dealers. The dealer told me they could install a new one but couldn't put the correct mileage back. I found a used one on Ebay for ~$400 and installed it myself. I found a Youtube video showing how. Not that difficult but the new/used display odometer showed 104,000 miles on it. My original one had ~40K on it. I talked with various mechanics about resetting the mileage but there is something specific to the 2013 that won't allow it to be reset although later models should be able reset the mileage. Hope that helps!

I resolved my issue. I bought a cluster on Ebay (about $100, slightly more mileage than the original) and asked a local mechanic to replace the cluster (paid $200). After the replacement, everything works fine.
