  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello! I'm in the market for a new jack. Anybody have a jack they highly recommend or would a harbor freight one would do.

Several years ago, I bought a Floor jack from Harbor Freight. It's a 3 ton, rapid pump. Sorry, I forget which brand it was. I have zero complaints with it. My son needed one so I loaned it to him and have since gifted it to him. I need to get a replacement. I've been waiting to see which happens first, a good sale or a sudden need.

Lol I been borrowing my dad's and decided to get one myself. I guess I'll go to hf today and check some out. I know they have had issues with their jack stands so I was kind of hesitant but I don't rely on the stands themselves. I always have a wheel and the jack while I'm under there.

Yeah, My father taught me to throw a wheel under there before putting any part of my body under it.

Definitely!

I have taught my son the same. He now works on 18 wheelers. This sort of paranoia (according to one of his coworkers) has literally saved his life at least once so far.

Oh man I'm glad he's ok!! That's some really scary shit! I had a close call when I was 16 with a scissor jack never again lol.
