  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good Morning Everyone,
I have a 2021 G70 2.0T that is showing I am 104 miles from my actual location. I have reset the head unit multiple times, and I am trying to get the firmware download, but that's a whole other thread. (the download keeps freezing at 99% on my pc) Anyone else have this issue? I also have the delamination on the upper right of the screen. :(

I have seen one or two other posts about GPS being off by a large amount (though this may be the worst yet). I would think that this would be caused by a timing circuit in the receiver being wrong. If so, only changing out the hardware will resolve it.

ugh, yay. Hopefully it will be warranty... only 2 years old

There's a way to recalibrate the GPS, but don't remember how; just that it involved driving in circles a little bit. It should be something simple, so I'd definitely search for that before wasting my time at a dealer... and possibly getting our car dinged/scuffed/scratched/etc. for no good reason. Good luck.

Wow, I will look that up. Thank you! If you run across it, would you mind posting a link?

That sounds like the procedure to recalibrate the compass.

It's similar, but I did that for my Tesla, and the calibration included driving in circles... but have never done it on any other vehicle. And it was right on the service menu, rather than under a 'secret' one, like on modern vehicles. It also had headlight aim adjustment, and other stuff, which was awesome. Anyway, on that car the GPS was only off like 2 lanes, but caused all kinds of issues getting confused when navigating, and the calibration fixed it.
