Vehicle rolls backwards after stopping on incline

Hi,
I'm new to this forum....thanks for having it and allowing me in.
OK. Just picked up a 2024 GV70 EV Prestige. We LOVE it! It's a huge learning curve from our 2008 Audi S6, (V-10), which got all of 9 MPG.
We live in CA and there are a lot of hills in our neighborhood. When stopped, if on an incline, as soon as you take your foot off the brake, the car rolls backwards. I have looked in the manual, yet can't find anything.
I do not have regenerative braking turned on. I assume that this would deal with my issue (???). Other than that, does anyone know if there is anything in settings that would take care of the car's rolling backwards issue?

The car has hill start assist which holds the brake for 5 seconds after lifting off on a hill. So it shouldn't roll back. Having said that I have noticed it rolls back occasionally on my GV70 but not a lot - similar to when you apply the parking break and it moves a bit when put in park.

Thanks Johners. I actually just spoke to my dealer/salesperson. He told me about the HOLD button near the shifter dial. This solves the issue. It does not allow the vehicle to drift/roll forwards or backwards until you touch the gas pedal.

Even without the hold button the car should not roll back on a hill after lifting off the brake and before hitting the accelerator (for 5 second at least). I personally don't like the hold button as the car takes longer to start when it's go time when you press.tbe accelerator.

If you use the hold button, you foot can be ready on the accelerator pedal and get away faster that if you took it from the brake,

As for rolling backwards, what is to prevent if if not the hold? Gravity and physics come into play.

It's called hill start assist. That's what holds it. The hold button is a different feature. The hold delays the car engine start because the car basically shuts off the engine at say a red light until you then press the accelerator on a green. Then it wakes into life. However, with hold turned off the car shuts off at a light while you hold the brake at the light. Then the minute you take your foot off the brake the engine starts so the accelerator is good to go the second it is pressed. In my experience this is is much more responsive. On the EV version this might be different, as I have the gas version. No new car should roll back at a light on a hill when you take your foot off the brake these days as they pretty much all have hill start assist. The hill start holds the brake once released for 5 seconds giving you time to press the accelerator.
